What is a Professional Doula?
Doulas provide trained, experienced support in information/education about the normal process of childbirth, child nurturing, and family adjustment.
How else can you help?
I respond to your individual circumstances with evidence based information, and referrals to expert services as needed.
What else do doulas do?
Professional Doulas provide continual physical and emotional support during and after labor and delivery. I help you achieve a safer, more trauma-free and satisfying childbirth experience and postpartum recovery season.
Can you help with breastfeeding questions?
My service includes support in breastfeeding/bottle feeding.
Are doulas like midwives?
Professional Doulas do not provide medical care. They facilitate the care you receive from your medical professional, helping you achieve care tailored to your personal needs and desires. I help you learn to advocate for yourself and your baby.
What if I want other friends and family at my birth, too?
Professional Doulas do not replace family and friends. They provide trained, experienced, unbiased support which complements and enhances the support from your family and friends.
Are doulas only for people who want natural birth?
Doulas support all types of birth experiences. My mission is to help you, in whatever is medically possible, to achieve the birth experience you believe is best for you, one choice at a time.
